BJ Medeiros
BJ Medeiros, 36, of Keaau died July 21, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born July 1, 1980, in Hilo, he was a mechanic for Lex Brodie’s in Pahoa.
Friends may call at noon July 31 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo for a 1 p.m. celebration of life. Cremation to follow. Casual attire and no flowers.
He is survived by step daughter, Alicia Berry; daughters, Kyra Medeiros and Tatiara Medeiros; son, Claesen Medeiros; parents, Bruno Sr. and Donna Medeiros; sisters, Virginia (Delbert) Grace, Desiree (Gary) Gouveia and Erin Medeiros; half-sisters, Michelle Medeiros and Robbieann Medeiros; half-brother, Bruno Jr. Stevens (Tracey) Medeiros; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; one grandnephew.

Wilby Austen
Wilby George Austen, 89, of Hilo died July 5, 2016, at a private care home in Hilo. Born in Honolulu, he was a school bus driver for Laupahoehoe Transportation and a foster grandparent at Keaukaha Elementary School and Haaheo Elementary School.
Private services were held.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Allen Balensuela
Allen Toshio Balensuela, 66, of Kailua-Kona died July 20, 2016, at his residence. Born Aug. 19, 1949, in Honolulu, he was a former gardener for Hawaiian Gardens, a bonsai artist, front desk clerk for the former Kona Hilton Resort and an Army veteran.
Service and inurnment will be held 9 a.m. Aug. 5 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Info: 325-7435.
He is survived by daughters, Shalene Balensuela, Angela Balensuela, both of San Francisco; brothers, Stanley (Terri) Kanai of Kailua-Kona, Arnold (Peggy) Kanai of Kealakekua; a niece and a nephew.

Jeffrey Loy
Jeffrey Michael Loy, 39, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, formerly of Kailua-Kona, died June 30, 2016, in Kingston Springs, Tenn. Born on Aug. 6, 1976, at Madigan Army Medical Center, Washington, and a 1994 graduate of Konawaena High School, he was an Army veteran and a long haul truck driver.
Viewing and cremation was held in Nashville, Tenn. No local service will be held.
He is survived by his wife, Daleena Loy of Alamogordo, New Mexico; sons, Jeffrey James, Brandon, and Ricky Riley-Loy, of Stayton, Oregon; stepdaughters, Amanda, Jada, and Sarah Ladner of Crestview, Fla. He isalso survived by parents, Rick and Rose Redman of Kailua-Kona; brother, Wade (Shandi) Loy IV of Kailua-Kona; sister, Kristi (Gary) Loy Sitosky of Ohio; father, Wade (Sandy) Loy III of Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.

Malachi Romero Pomaikai Kaua Gonsalves, infant, died July 2, 2016.

He is survived by parents, Anthony Gonsalves and Monica Carvalho; brothers, Souljah, Kameron, Azaraiah, and Titan, all of Pahoa; sister, Princess Leia of Pahoa; grandparents, Alan and Tracy Gonsalves of Pahoa, Terrie and Douglas Carvalho of Pahoa; great-grandfather, Albert Gonsalves of Pahoa; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
